Princess Cake

Princess Cake on Cake Central

I carved the skirt from a 10 in round, then stacked up a few more round cakes, carved them a little. The head is the ball pan, carved down a little. Everything is covered in fondant. I was inspired by Misseyek's gumpaste tiara instructions, but had trouble getting it to stay together, so I ended up doing a simpler version.

Holy COW!!! This is just fantastic, I am just in aww of all of your cakes!! Would you mind sharing how you supported the body and the head, thanks!!

Thank you!! There is board on top of the skirt, dowelled, to support the body. Then more dowels and a board under the head. Then I drove two sharpened dowels down through all the boards into the bottom board. It was actually pretty sturdy.

WOW!! I love this! And how flattered am I that you were inspired by something I made. This is really cute and I will have to show it to my daughter!

The frills on the skirt? They were made using the garrett frill cutter, and I just kept going around and around and around, LOL.
