Beautiful job!! Reminds me of my wedding cake four years ago, but had pink ribbon roses. I think it was a Martha cake that we changed a bit. Love the yellow color on this one. You did great! Wow, I would have cried. Good thing you guys talked before the wedding though. Hopefully you can get use out of the red roses. Will they keep for a while?
Thank you! It's a long story! The bride sent me a pic of this cake but it had red roses on it. She told me she wanted that exact cake and I assumed that meant red also. Needless to say I have about 75 red roses now that I did not use. Five days before the wedding she informed me her color was yellow. Oh well, a lesson learned on my part. I probably put about 5-6 hours into them each time.
It is a light whipped buttercream. It tastes very similiar to whipped cream. I have not been able to find a recipe to an icing that I like, so I have been buying it from my local cake supply store. It is so good!
