Pearls And Ribbon on Cake Central

LARGE square wedding cake, 10",12", 14", 16". Had plenty for wedding of 300 people. Inlaid diamond pattern on buttercream icing using a template press, hand rolled fondant pearls and silk ribbon.

To form the small pearls...I used a 6mm bead maker, then cut the pearls apart and rolled individually. For the large pearls...I used tip 12, upside down to cut out of fondant, then rolled 2 cut peices together to get that size. A lot of rolling! I piped tip 2 dots of BC to attach pearls.

Just Beautiful! I love those impression mats they make it so nice. What a great job you did getting it all straight!

Yes, those are "pearled hat pins" in the edges of the ribbon to hold it on. To get the impression mat to line up evenly, I start lining up the mat at the top edge of the cake and work down.Thanks so much for the nice compliments!

How on earth did you get those pearls to formed perfectly? What a great cake. I love the quilt pattern
