"domestic Goddess" Mother's Day Cake

"domestic Goddess" Mother's Day Cake on Cake Central

My mother often refers to herself as a domestic goddess, so I thought Id make a cake that fit the title. :) Choc-o-holic two tier 8 cake on the bottom and pound cake pillow on top - all covered and decorated in fondant. White chocolate crown brushed with luster dust. Mom was most impressed.

Many many thanks to Pyxxydust for her prince cake that inspired me, and MelC for her tiara template which I used for the crown.

carrielynnfields and MelC have posted patters. Print the pattern to the size you want and wrap it around a cylinder (I did this one around my flour container). Put parchment paper over the pattern, then trace over it several times with your piped chocolate. I use chocolate, but I've seen it done with royal icing too. Do at least 3-4 layers so it'll be sturdy enough to take off without breaking.
