Course 3 Cake

Course 3 Cake on Cake Central

This was the cake I did for my Wilton Class Course 3. Lavendar and purple gumpaste tulips with gumpaste leaves. This was also my first time working with gumpaste. Let me know what all you think... all opinions/advice is apprecated!!

Oh... see... now I really LIKE all the leaves around the top mound. It remind me of the way the crocus come out of the ground in bunches. But then, I guess that's the thing about personal opinions... everyone's is different! The top mount - is that all icing or did you use a little cake (maybe a mini-ballpan)?

Wow! Pretty cake, what tip did you use to decorate the top of the cakes ~it reminds me of snow. Great job on the gumpaste flowers and leaves..maybe not so many leaves on top. Again, PRETTY CAKE!

I used tip 225, which makes kind of a drop flower to do the tops/borders on the cake. I used a lot of leaves on the top tier because that was the only way to cover the mound used for the flowers ... I thought it was a bit much myself... it seems to be easier when you use buttercream and a leaf tip!
