Sun Cake

Sun Cake on Cake Central

This is what it looked like when I took it to the party. If anyone knows how to get that nice marbled appearance that is pictured on the outside of the seashell chocolate mold, please share! I wanted those orange shells to be white and orange, but the two colors just melded...

Beautiful sun, are the chocolate transfers very hard to? As for the marbled look with molded candy the easiest way I found was to pipe the two colors I wanted right into the mold and mix with candy brush until I got the desired effect, you can work out all the bubbles at the same time

imbkay13, Thanks for the tip!! I will try it! The chocolate transfers are surprisingly easy and they come out great, even if you make a few mistakes. Just pipe out the outline from a parchment bag and pipe the fill (or shade with a brush). Let me know if you need anymore help!!

This is chocolate transfer using Candy Melts. The template comes from the Whimsical Bakehouse book. The shading is done after the outline is piped - I use the wilton candy brushes. Thanks for the compliments!!

The way I do the stripes in the shells, I start with your main color chocolate in a bowl and drizzle the second color over it. Then I move the bowl in circles in the air until you get the swirled effect and then I pour it into the mold from there. That's how I was told to do it in class.
