Banjo Groom's Cake

Banjo Groom's Cake on Cake Central

I made this for a groom's cake. The groom likes to play the banjo. 12" rounds and a 12x18 sheet cake cut into 4ths for the long skinny part. Fishing line used for the string, fondant accents. This took alot of thought, there are no banjo cakes on the internet. I went by a picture that the grooms mom gave me. Let me know what you think!

I tied the fishing line to toothpicks and they started under the grey square piece of fondant at the end of the round part, and I ran the fishing line under the other thin strip of grey fondant in the middle of the round part. From there the fishing line ran the length of the banjo and tied to toothpicks that were raised up out of the cake so they did not sit right on the cake, I wanted it to be as real looking as possible. You should have seen the look on the mother of the grooms face when I delivered it.
