how did you frost the sides of the cake?
Thanks for the nice comments! :) I used cornelli lace for the sides of the cake and a basic shell for the border. I might add that I didn't take any cake home except for my top tier.
that's a lot of cake. it's very pretty. must have been a lot of work. I'm sure they all loved it.

I just did my first wedding cake for 220 people, and I can't imagine doing one for 500 on top of wedding jitters! You did a FABULOUS job!
yukisaru- my advice to you..... DON'T DO IT! :-) It was WAY too much stress! My husband is lucky to have married me that day. I really couldn't enjoy myself on the day--I was worried about the cake and everything else being perfect.
How did you manage to make the cake and prepare is what I wonder, I was thinking of taking on this challenge myself in a few years.
