Boston cream pie with fresh strawberries and chocolate accents. My husband did not want any fondant on his birthday cake so I decorated with chocolate instead. So much fun!
I love this. I had a customer ask me to do something with strawberries and she wanted something different. I think this would be perfect. Can you tell me how you did the chocolate on the sides?
I've never actually worked with real chocolate so it is just almond bark (chocolate and vanilla flavored) melted and smoothed on parchment paper. I then drizzled the contrasting color over it. Refrigerated for a while then carefully cut into the shape I wanted. It was really easy. My only problem is that I just used ziplock bags whith the end cut off to drizzle the "chocolate" and the bags started melting and getting holes.

Very cool! My DH hates fondant too! Thanks for sharing, can't wait to try!
Death by chocolate. It looks amazing. I hope when I try it that it looks half as good.
