Yellow & White Round Fondant Cake

Very elegant. Do you do the quilt pattern before of after you cover the cake with the fondant? Thanks.

azterp -- made the quilt pattern after covering the cake. This was my first try. I wanted to learn how to do it and this is how I heard it was done. You cover the cake and then put it on the Wilton cake dividing mat. I used a toothpick and marked the bottom and then took a ruler and marked the same distance up from that dot. Then I connected them diagonally with a cutting wheel with the quilt pattern on it. Wasn't too hard. Thanks.
