Tiered B-Day Cake
I made this for my grandmother's 90th birthday... it was the first tiered cake I ever made! Frosting is buttercream, rose petals are fondant. I was thrilled with how the rose petals turned out, but I thought the cake looked a little crooked. I also think I made the "90" too big. For a first shot though, not too bad, I guess.
Beautiful cake...your rose petals are perfect!
It doesn't look crooked to me. It's beautiful! I'm sure she was pleased!
GORGEOUS CAKE!! You look like a pro , not a first timer! Keep up the awesome work.
THANK YOU ladies! My dream is to be able to make cakes for a living, but sometimes, I look at the "professional" New York cake designers and think, no way will I ever be that good! I'm going to keep trying though. Another problem with this cake was that it was July 16th in Las Vegas, and the heat of he butercream caused it to seep through on the ribbon
The 90 is a perfect size. Any 90 year old deserves something big to celebrate.
