yes, they are just buttercream!

how do you get the cupcakes in the pot or pail? and would you get them out with out getting icing all over? ps I think it is beautiful guess I should have read what you rote. DUH

when you go to remove the cupcakes one at a time as people serve themselves, you just grab the bottom of the cupcake (very easily done) by the sides and pull up on it and the toothpick stays in the styrofoam and the cupcake slides right off of it, then you just peel the paper cup off and eat it...they're really very easily served!

yeah, I shaped the foam a little.......but I also cut a little off the tops of the cupcakes that were around the sides so they wouldn't be quite as tall as the ones in the center

Very pretty, how did you get the ribbon in? Did you put the ribbon in, then the foam ball? How did you keep the loops in the ribbon?

I used floral picks that have wire on the tops.....I just cut a length of ribbon, folded it over and wrapped the wire around it and stuck the pick into the foam.....I added the ribbon just before adding the last row of cc around the bottom
