Cactus Cake
This was inspired from Colettes cakes.... I thought it would be fun to do for my dad's birthday cake, he likes cactus. And everyone thought I was walking in with a real cactus. Buttercream...chocolate graham crackers for the "dirt" and cactus flower I did didn't dry in enough time, so I used the Wilton fantasy flower that I had made for the class. It worked.
It looks so realistic! I would love getting that cake too. Great job!

You did a great job!! It looks very life-like and the flower looks like it was made for the cactus. What did you use for the yellow spikes?
they were made out of royal icing, just pipe hmmm about 1/2 inch lines and let them dry, then stick them in. I made 200 spikes, alot broke, because there were supposed to be 3 in each green thingy. HTH. you can PM me if you want though.
