Star Flag Cake

Star Flag Cake on Cake Central

Idea from the Wilton website. Cake is covered with different colored fondant. Wasn't completely happy with the way this turned out - the blue started cracking a bit, and I ended up with a white smear on the blue from one of the stars. I couldn't figure out how to seamlessly join the blue and the white, so I covered the seam with a red stripe. Not too bad, I guess. :)

I think it looks great! Colors are nicely composed, visually feels balanced - nice work! Did you torte the cake? Just curious, I have that star, always looking for good uses for it. :)

Thanks! :) I used Satin Ice fondant for the white and Wilton colored fondant for the blue and red (I hadn't gotten brave enough to color Satin Ice at time time. Things have changed since then. ;) ).

Great job one of the best covered Fondant cake I've seen on the 4th of July cakes yet. Very clean and beautiful. I bet you had fun decorating it. Did you use regular fondont? :USA:
