50Th Anniversary

50Th Anniversary on Cake Central

This cake was done in partnership with a good friend; much of the design was hers, and much of the execution was mine. The steps and stepping stones were imprinted with words such as "love" "fun" and "prayer". We made sure "forgive" was the first step! Top of the gazebo is a half-ball cake. Arbor, steps, stones and tiny Bibles on benches are fondant. Arborvitaes, topiaries & shrubs are piped on pretzels. Flower pots are chocolate

very creative! i love the topiaries and stepping stones! put together well- alot of detail, but without the clutter. which tips did you use for piping the topiaries and plants?

For the stairs I cut out a 1/2" cardboard template and used it as a guide. Originally I took off the whole corner of the cake--with the stairs getting wider as they went up--but didn't like the look, so rebuilt it with a stairwell in stead. Risers are put in last piped with a rose tip.

FABULOUS work!!! Better than ''Ace of Cakes''!! Watched that show when they did the Taj Mahal and all he did was roll fondant into balls & ovals for shrubbery!!! YOU outdid him!!!
