In album: cupcake-bouquet
A bouquet made using mini cupcakes! My roses leave a lot to be desired....it was super hot in my kitchen and the buttercream was melting.....but I was just messin' around , I sent them to work with my mom if I had been making them for someone that was paying I would have of course done it over again.

Your roses are beautiful, you are too hard on yourself.

That is sooo CUTE! It took me a minute to figure out where the mini cupcakes were LOL. I LOVE your roses, I have such a hard time with them. It's going right into my favorites. How are they in the pail? On skewers? Was it difficut to do? OK enough rambling! GREAT JOB!!

thanks you so much for all your compliments.......all I did was took a piece of styrofoam (would be much easier with a big foam ball by the way but I was working spur of the moment) and I just carved the foam into a dome shape, covered in pink tissue paper (asthestics) and then stuck toothpicks into the foam and stuck the cupcakes onto the toothpicks!! Instead of frosting the cupcakes I just made a rose on the tops, like using the top of the cc as a flower nail sort of! Then put leaves to cover gaps

I tried making something like this and the cupcakes just kept falling off of the toothpicks. Any tips on how to get them to stay on? My roses also kept falling off 8O
KHalstead 5/9/07 at 4:18pm
well, I did figure out that it was easier to stick the cc in place and then poke the toothpick into the center of it!
KHalstead 5/9/07 at 4:51pm
as for the rosees.........I gave my cc a thin coat of bc before piping the roses on....it's also important to make sure your "dome" of styrofoam isn't too steep...just nice and rounded off...like half of a foam ball
