Butterfly Birthday

Butterfly Birthday on Cake Central

Cake for BF's daughter. Second time using MMF (first time a week ago!), first time making fondant/gumpaste butterflies. The butterflies turned out ok, better luck next time I hope! Little clear bumps in the MMF - did I not melt the marshmallows enough? Bumps are not powdered sugar, so?? I enjoy making and decorating these cakes, but it is so time consuming!! Again, I am a complete novice. Does it get faster the more you do it? I'll take any advice I can get! Thanks.

The cake is darling. The butterflies are delightful. (MMF, perhaps it needed more kneading.) The marblizing is very nice.

First off I love your cake. Your colors are right on and your butterflies are adorable! One of the things that stands out to me is to try and make your decorations thinner. Roll them out thinner and maybe you can add a little gumpaste to help them when they are thinner. I think you have great promise in decorating though and as they say"Practise does make perfect!" Trust me I need alot of this! :D
