I made fondant panels and let them firm up overnight. Then I applied them to the cake with melted chocolate. I put the fondant polka dots on after the box was assembled. HTH!
WOW! I honestly through the black lingerie was a real piece of lingerie draped over a cake. You are just the most talented cake maker ever couturiere :)
For the bustline, cut two triangles, Lay a stencil over them and brush with luster dust. Find a slightly rounded surface and lay the triangles over to dry.
It was a plastic stencil. I pressed it down, and lightly brushed on the luster dust. If you use too much luster dust, it will ruin the lines when you remove the stencil. ( I found that out during a demo just last Sunday!-sigh...):D

Thank you for the kind comment, but truly I have so much more to learn! Just LOVE what I am doing.I am having more fun than the law should allow!
I just can't get over the lingerie, your just gonna have to share with us how you did that, it just looks SO REAL!
Truly easy! Used a stencil and brushed luster dust over the fondant to create the lace.
Could you tell me how you did the box? I love the whole cake!

Thank you. I'm making a cake for a lingerie party and I'd love to "steal" your idea.
Molly999, feel free to use the idea. Please post a pic on the gallery when you finish it!
Oh, I get it! The fondant is black and your pattern is the lustre dust through the stencil! Very clever! Very, very cool too!
See? I told you it was SOOO easy!!
how did you get your fondant in the perfect lingerie shape, I want to do one for my friends lingerie shower but that looks way out of my league

Was your stencil paper or plastic - just thinking about how to achieve such a lovely-looking result
