Practice Fish Cake - Used In Groom's Cake Display - Alicia's Big Catch On March 31, 2007
This was the first fish cake I created using fondant (it was apple-cinamon cake) back in February 2007 in preparation for my stepdaughter's wedding on March 31, 2007. I baked the 3 cakes that made up the Grooms Cake Display entitled "Alicia's BIG Catch" - this was my first-ever fondant project and it was a LOT of fun! I used mini-marshmallow fondant after trying and not liking the traditional recipie.
Wow - it looks terrific!
thank you it was fun - though scary as it was my first-ever. I first tried the basic fondant recipie (I used it for the cakeboard) and thought it very dry and brittle. Then I went on to the MM Fondant and LOVED it! It is wonderful to sculpt with.
Could you please tell me how you textured the scales, it looks real!
Could you please tell me how you textured the scales, it looks real!
PM to you Loree!
