This is SO pretty!! Few Q's, What color tint did u use for the beads and accent flowers? What kind of icing did you use for your scroll work? (looks almost like royal or even poured fondant!), And, did you cover your styro with icing or anything before the fondant? Sorry so many Q's but I gotta know!!! LOL. elly =o)
The drape was a little tricky for me as a beginner - I made that out of gum paste which seemed to drape better than fondant, than I used a mix of meriengue powder and water with a brush to stick it to the cake. The flowers were made of fondant (I think- I made this one awhile ago and was experimenting with gumpaste and fondant at the same time) I used luster dust on one of them to see how it would look. Yes I used a diamond impression mat and it worked great! Thanks again for all the nice comments! Ellyr...
Ellyrae, not sure if you could read what I put in my last comment - I used Aztec Gold Luster Dust for the accent flowers (so pretty) and very thin royal icing for the scroll work (too thin -should have been stiffer because it dripped) I just put the fondant right on the dummies cause I wanted to use them again but I think icing them would make it stick better.
Thanks for your answers Cakes80! That aztec is awesome! If you don't want to put icing on your dummies, you can cover them with plastic wrap and then moisten the plastic with water for the fondant to stick to. Works for me! Thanks again! elly
