Disco ball cake for a girl's skate party birthday. Sports ball covered in fondant tiles, air brushed with silver luster. I didn't let my tiles dry long enough, they were so heavy it soon became a disco orb. Thanks to msauer for her guidance, next time I'll listen better! :)

I had to break out my geometry to calculate the surface area of a spere, which is (4)(pi)(radius squared). Answer was 113.

well the pic came up and my 11 yr old says wow cool a disco ball... that must have taken ages... so from the mouth of babes you have it and she is really into all that wish i had though of it when we had her disco party. maybe another time well done anyways its great
