Here I am, sitting at my desk with tears in my eyes. You all are so kind and encouraging. It's a long story, but after my folks passed away (I took care of them) I guess I got a bit down. Sort of lost interest in the things I used to find pleasure in. This past Dec. I discovered cake decorating and boy, it's been so wonderful. This site has been just the best and you all are the greatest! I thank you soooo much!!

Fantastic cake!

The fondant I used was a packaged one that I bought at the cake shop where I took my class. I can't remember the name of it. I did buy a tub of Satin Ice online so I am going to try that one. I avoided pleats by using one hand to lift the fondant away from the cake slightly while smoothing it down with the other. Just had to be careful not to stretch it as it will crack down at the bottom, hence the nice piped border.
