Purple Purse Cake
This was for my daughter's 10th bday. She had a shopping theme and a wonderful time with her friends doing a Mall Mania Scavenger Hunt. The cake was white with strawberry filling. Cut, carved and stacked a 1/2 sheet cake. (Have to admit I purchased it at a local grocery store. Just plum ran out of time to bake this one.) MMF over BC crumbcoat. The handle was a wire purchased at Hobby Lobby for stringing beads for making a purse. We used gumballs instead. The clasp is a brad just stuck into the cake.
Turned out great, I bet everyone loved it.
Both my cakes were made with the same MMF, what a difference lighting will make when taking the pictures!
This is wonderful! How did you get the lid shaped mmf onto the cake without stretching?I am dying to try a purse cake, yours is great!

I wrapped the cake, kind of like a present. I chilled the cake, rolled out the MMF and laid the cake in the center. I cut the MMF around the cake and wrapped it around and up and over. Hope that makes sense.
