Shirley's Birthday

This is a first ever kinda cake. First time ever making & using MMF. First ever making and using gumpaste, & first ever doing stringwork. I need lots of practice yet on the stringwork, but I think I have the hang of it. I also need lot's of practice on making gumpaste roses, again, I THINK I have the hang of it. I just really need practice - practice - practice. Not to shabby for self-taught is it? Be honest now, I can handle it. I'll never know if you don't tell the truth. Truth is what I NEED.

Thank you all so much! Darra, I have to agree with you, I thought the very same thing when I sat back and looked it all over. The larger border just really takes away from the stringwork. I started not to put anything there at all, wish I hadn't now. Thank you for your honesty.

it's beautiful! kudos on that stringwork! i would've used a smaller tip for the top part of the string border, but other than that, i think it's perfect :)

AWESOME!!!!!!! I love it! I have never used gumpaste yet, but it looks really good to me.
