Very simple; but very creative; I love the idea. I am saving this one in case someone wants this theme but needs a cheaper cake; this would be one that i could do that is adorable but easier to make. It is soooo cute!

This is a great cake! I just love it! I had a couple questions...1) how do you keep the brown sugar where you want it? 2) how do you get the icing for the water to be shiny like that? I'm new at this.. :)

I used a spoon to controlany spills but the sugar will adhere to the icing and the border will keep it from rolling. Just lightly press. As for the water its just tinted piping gel with a little light Karo syrup for taste. If you'd like you can email me [email protected]

I made a cake the other day for someone and I used brown sugar! I didn't do the water like yours...just kind of winged it..it was a $20 cake for someone and I wanted it to look nice, but without all the fuss because it would have cost more. I put it in the fishing/hunting category if you want to take a peek and critique it for me. :)

Did you ice the cake completely, then outline and put the piping gel on? It looks like there's white icing under the gel? I'm going to recreate this cake for my son's birthday party. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! You did a great job, by the way. :D
