sugarshack--I loved your cake so much I used it for my son's communion. Should have checked w/ you first that that was ok. Sorry I didn't. Everyone loved it!! What is the saying??? copying is the best form of flattery??
WOW!! I must say this is a BEAUTIFUL cake. I am doing one for my neice on Sunday but nothing like this creation. So - I have questions...Fondant? did you use a mat for the quilting look or by hand? How did you do the cross? are the leaves fondant? Are those little crosses on the side? How did you do those? what kind of cake/filling?
thanks yall; it is iced in BC and the quilt impression mat used. the cross was just cut from fondnat with a paper template; dried and then trimmed with clay gun. you cant tell in pic but i sprayed it with super pearl also. the drapes are fondnat and the flowers and leaves were purchased ones I had hanging around. choc cake with choc and rasp filling! side crosses were piped in royal and then painted with a little super pearl.
Stuning!! Sugarshack, I tried using that impression mat with buttercream. I let it crust but it still pulled part of the icing off. I dusted it with corn starch in between, too. Any advice on how to use that darn mat?
