A lady at my mom's work ordered this......she saw a photo online at freeds bakery .com and wanted it like theirs only different colors. My first topsy turvy hope it doesn't fall LOL
thanks the board was just a thrown together thing with stuff I had around the house LOL The pink is tissue paper and the black dots are those little white dots for yard sales colored with a sharpie and then covered in clear contact......it's just foam core and then I hot glued silver ribbon around the edge. I was surprised at how it turned out!
wow, thanks so much.........drove me nuts that all the fondant pieces made the icing not so smooth lol...would've been so much easier if they had wanted to pay for ALL fondant LOL oh well, live and learn, I'm just glad it didn't fall over!!!! Thank you Lord!!!!!!
Very pretty cake. I want to make one like this if someone askes me to do. My doughter said make one for my birthday. But she also wants Sponge Bob and a monkey on it. I don't know how it will come out. We'll see.
lol........don't ya just love kids!! My son just informed me he wants a cake that's already made at the store LOL (he's 4 going on 5).......whatever, he's getting two cakes!!!!! lol
I was just looking at this on your avatar and had to see it close up. I love the pink and black!! I want to try a topsy turvy cake soon--it turned out great!
It was kinda time consuming because of the gumpaste roses and fondant accents...but not difficult by any means....I used the directions on this site in the articles section and they were super easy to follow and worked out perfectly...and this cake was given to my mom fully assembled and she toted it to work and gave it to the girl that ordered it and she drove it to someone's house, who drove it to the party and it was sturdy and didn't have ANY problems structurally or otherwise
