This baby shower cake was my first ever. It was a baby shower cake for my friends shower. It was 2 - 8" layers. It was filled & crumb-coated with buttercream and covered in White Fondant. The baby is Fondant and a mound of buttercream under a Fondant blanket.
:Thank you all for the sweet comments! It sure does make a girl feel good about herself! As for the Buttons, I did roughly the same size balls of fondant & pressed the end of a door pin into them. I bought the door pin at loews or someplace new, cleaned them, and wrapped a bit of plastic wrap on the end of it. The end of the pin is the perfect size to make a little lip around the edge of the button. Then I took a tip #1 & did the two small thread holes... voila, you've got yourself some buttons!! Tha...
