First Wedding Cake
My first official wedding cake. It was a 3 tier (6", 9" & 12"), staked cake with 2 - 2' layers in each tier. It was filled & crumb-coated with buttercream and covered in White Fondant. The Ribbons were strips of fondant embossed with a rolling pin and brushed with Luster Dust in white. The flowers were all gumpaste & hand painted with edible chalks & luster dusts. My sister-in-law was kind enough to bake and fill the cakes for me and assist me in covering the cakes with fondant. Suggestions/Comments?
Your cake is beautiful, Great job!!!! a first you should be proud of!
I love your cake!! Awesome. Looks very professional. The embossing is a great touch, I would love to know where you got that rolling pin.
great job!! Did you brush the ribbon with the luster dust before you put it on the cake?
Thank you All So Much!!! :D You are all super sweet! The cake was so much fun to do! The embossing rolling pin was one I bought this year at ICES in Dallas - it was CHEAP!!! As for the lusterdust... I made the mistake of brushing it on after the ribbon was on and in the fridge overnight! It started sweating and was sticky to brush on. In the future I will do it before I put it on! Live and Learn!!! :USA:
You did an excellent job! I have my first wedding cake on Sunday and I can only hope it is this nice!
