Easter Basket Cake
This is my Easter Basket cake, the cake is 7 layers of double chocolate all torted and filled with french vanilla buttercream.The basket weave is chocolate fudge in two shades, the top was then covered in moss green buttercream leaves with parsley stuck just into the tips so the icing won't pick up a parsley flavor. I covered the cake board in silk ferns and some green silk leaves. The bunnies are salt and pepper shakers that I got as a gift for my sister since she's having the Easter dinner at her house.
wow it looks great, it must have taken so much hard work I can't even imagine, what a clever and sneaky sweet thing to do to add salt and pepper shakers!
i've heard of going all out to wrap a gift -- but this not only takes the cake it's an absolutely fabulous cake! very original!!!! and very well done.

7 layers? It must be huge! When I first saw this picture I thought it was of the chocolate rabbits. Fantastic job on the basketweave..
Thank you for the compliments! It is quite tall,I needed it that way for proportion. It was my first time doing basketweave so I'm happy it turned out!
