Show cakemommy's Photosets in album: Lambeth and Stringwork
This is my San Diego Cake Club's Confections on Parade cake show entry. This cake was entered in the Foreign Techniques Category and was picked for one of the five Best of Show cakes from different categories. In fact, I found out that my cake was voted by the judges, the best of the Best of Show! I didn't think it was any where near that quality but they did apparently. I'm not worthy but I'll take it!!!

Thank you so much! It's really easy once you get the hang of it. It is very time consuming though, there is no doubt about that. It also takes a steady hand and a paintbrush!

I knew this was your work the second I saw the photo thumbnail. Excellent job, as usual.

WOW DIVINE!!! Pardon my ignorance; did you do that with regular buttercream???
    cakemommy 3/6/07 at 7:43pm
This is with royal but can also be done with buttercream! Definately!!! I've done it on a few of my sheet cakes for practice leading up to this cake. It's fun to do because the end result is really pretty.

It IS very pretty! Looks like a lot of hard work!

Did you take a class for this? It's quite lovely. How long did all this decorating work take after fondant covered? Looks like it requires so much patience. Love it. Love bridgework but kind of in awe of it at this point.
