Kathy, I didn't use a shaped pan, I carved the skull from (2) 14" round cake pans. The horns are formed from rice krispie treats and covered with fondant and glued on with royal icing. You can still see the toothpick I forgot to take out before the pic was taken, holding one horn in place.
Having lived in rural desert australia, this is so identical anyone would think it's real. Ps I know it is indicative of texas but some things don't change through different countries hehehe

Awesome cake! The cactus look great too! But that skull is scary in its realistic-ness!
