A very traditional Anniversary cake done for my daughter's teacher, whose parents were celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  They are a very religious family and wanted a reading from the bible included.  Not being a church goer, this was a daunting task, also, not having any experiece piping with royal icing and I was nervous to say the least.

Fran, I want you to make me one almost exactly like this for my 50th wedding anniversary, in err, ahh 44 years!! Gotta be dark mud with lots of chocolate ganache and the scripture has to be something different. Looks lovely : ) and i lurve the board!!!!

Wow, this is a beautiful cake. How did you write in gold? Did you pipe that in royal? It looks almost flat in the picture like it's a pen.

It's all piped and then painted with edible gold paint and a very fine paintbrush. Thanks
