Texas Holdem Poker Table Cake

Texas Holdem Poker Table Cake on Cake Central

I found a bunch of different poker table cakes on this site, but didn't know how to use fondant when I made this cake. So the cake is done in buttercream for the green and chocolate buttercream for the black. The cards are done from white chocolate and painted with colored chocolate as I found the food writers didn't work that well. The chips are also made from chocolate. The cake was a huge hit for my friend.

For the cake size: I didn't have a hexagonal cake pan and didn't feel like buying one. So I baked 2 - 9x13 cakes, put them together and then cut off what I didn't need. For the cards: I used a wilton candy mold that is like a name tag. Then when the chocolate was hard I scraped down the sides and scraped off the name tag outline.
