Year of the Horse themed cake for Cake Central's Chinese New Year Inspiration Challenge. Was going to do a cake for Chinese New Year anyway but then saw there was an Inspiration Challenge for it and the inspiration photos on the Pinterest board immediately got my design brain thinking. I knew right away how I would like to incorporate many of the elements of the board into the design. I ended up using 6 photo inspirations. Was going to make it out of real cake but then with the tight timeline from when I discovered there was a challenge, I didn't have time to bake so just used dummies.

I'm really loving how it turned out. Used the Marvelous Mold Damask On-Lay to create the petals for the peony on the bottom tier. I again used my two-tone petal ball topper on this cake since the Pinterest board had a flower ball as part of the inspiration photos and how could I not use it? Lol. This was lots of fun! TFL. Violet
