I made this for my Italian mother in law's birthday today. She had tears in her eyes so I guess she liked it! I planned on making the fork out of fondant too, but it has been four days of over 40 degrees celcius (104) in a row, peaking at 44 today (111)! not ideal cake weather and the top meatball was too soft to support a metal spoon, so I had to settle on a plastic one.
