Better Cookies

Better Cookies on Cake Central

These cookies look like what I was after when I was trying to make the basket. No Fail cookies, with Alice's Cookie Icing. The general advice is not to thin Alice's icing, because they won't dry correctly, but I couldn't get the look I was after without doing so. (I don't like royal icing...too hard on my teeth.) I'll come back after this afternoon's get-together and post a report on whether they stuck together or not.

Thanks, gang. It's fun when things go the way you want them to! I took this plate into my volunteer gig. A couple of the ones with the most icing on them left "trails" on the ones above. Not bad. But, if it had been for any other event, it would have bothered me. The cookies left at home seemed much better this afternoon. I'm going to try adding more meringue powder and see if I can hit on the perfect icing for me.

Yup...toothpick. I did Easter Eggs that way, too. Didn't post them because someone else posted some just like them the same day, and I didn't want her to think I ran out and copied her! :))
