Just one cake for my own Christmas table this year (well there was the egg nog cheesecake too). A hummingbird cake (everybody's new very favorite cake--thank you CC) filled and frosted with raffaello meringue buttercream. The church is gumpaste. It's a little wonky because I backed it with wafer paper on only one side and it warped as it dried. Next time I'll start sooner so I can let the pieces dry and bond them together with RI. The light is provided by one of those led candles. It actually looked like the church was on fire because of the flickering effect. The angels are gumpaste and the tree is fondant on a wafer paper cone. Lots wrong with the presentation, but the family loved the flavor and that's what counts.
