I have not seen the competition but this cake is sure to beat it. It's beautiful and your bows are perfect. Very beautiful.

This is so very pretty. Just an awesome cake all together!!! Let me ask you something, why do people mix half gumpaste and fondant instead of just one of the other??? Is that why the bows look stunning? It's just beautiful!

Thank you so much everyone! I am still waiting to hear how the event went! I took a great class with Janette Pfertner to learn the swags. She said you use half fondant-half gumpaste because you need the gumpaste to be able to roll it very thin, but gumpaste dries too fast, so you need the fondant to keep it elastic longer while you work with it. Straight fondant would rip and tear if you rolled it this thin.

Well the cake is stunning. You did a great job with the drapes and bows. however, I would recommend you learn to make your own flowers. Cakes would look even better! Great job.
