Recording Studio Mixing Board Cake. This cake was made for Frank Liddell, who is a country music producer here in Nashville. He is married to Lee Ann Womack. I was commissioned to make this cake for Frank by his sister, Lise Liddell. They requested a mixing board with a guitar, whiskey bottle, beer, a tracking sheet, guitar picks and, since Frank has won them, an ACM & CMA award. The cake is a representation of just a corner of an actual mixing board, in order to keep things to scale. The Jack Daniels bottle is isomalt with an icing sheet for the label (I made a brown one and a clear one just in case of an emergency). The beer can and the two "awards" are krispy treats, the tracking sheet is an icing sheet with the names of all the artists that Frank has produced, the guitar picks are wafer paper and the Martin guitar headstock is modeling chocolate with angel hair for the "strings." The faders, buttons & knobs on the mixing board are all gumpaste. This turned out to be an amazing experience and the family invited me to stay for the party. Needless to say, that doesn't happen very often for us in this business! It was so much fun and I got to see and visit with many old friends of mine in the music industry, as well as meet new ones. Yay for cake!!!

Owning a recording studio is my dream. Perhaps someday I'll be able to create such a project. Right now I'm just making music and trying to promote it on different platforms. I like the conditions that Spotify provides, but I'm sure that without additional Spotify promotion it is hardly possible to do without due to the huge competition. It's better to pay to find your live audience faster.
