Birdcage
I was emailed a picture of this cake and asked to replicate. I don't know the original artist to credit them I am afraid. Anyway, this was my first time making a vegan cake which created many problems, not least not being able to use my favourite gnache under the fondant or my back up of buttercream. So I made a 'buttercream' out of nuttelex but it didn't leave a nice smooth crust so I ended up having to do two layers of fondant to try and smooth it out. The cake is made from 8" rounds and stood 16 inches tall.
