Just Say No! To Camo
I don't ever want to do another camo cake for as long as I live! Holy moly! I was up until 1 am and STILL didn't have it finished! But, the final product made it worth it. And at least it was for my own child! All buttercream icing (the black I cheated and used the tube - the horror!) and toys. :)
Like you said, It was all worth it, and I bet your son LOVED the cake!!!:D
Too cool! What is the road made of?
Thanks! The road is just the cut cake (it started as an 8" round and was cut down to 6". I shaved down the path and then added some 'fresh' cake crumbs to it that day (mixed a little buttercream in so it would clump slightly). Oh, almost forgot - thanks to AlamoSweets for the inspiration.
It looks like you spent hours and hours on this, but it came out great-I bet there are some adults that would like this as well
I think it looks fantastic! And as long as the birthday boy liked it, that's what matters most!
