Using a round cake, carve to the shape of the fortune cookie. The fondant is rolled out and cut in a circle exactly twice the diameter of the original cake (i.e. a 12" round for a 6" cake). The fondant is then covered over the cake starting with the middle of the outside edge then wrapped around the whole cake. It really does work build a sample first with paper to see the relationship of making the shape.
