Monkey Dog Cake
My daughter designed this cake for me to do for her birthday. I think we make a good team! I've come a long way since last year (see my photo album). I modeled all of the figures out of fondant (I got wonderful ideas for these from the cc gallery). At the last minute I decided to do the "Happy Birthday Katherine" message in chocolate transfer. I've been experimenting with this method alot recently. This cake was loads of fun to make!

azterp - I created a template in Word. I found a font I liked and typed my message in a text box. I then cut the text box and used "Paste Special" to paste it as a picture file. I then used the picture tool bar to reverse the image. Does this make sense? From there, I used a toothpick to do the letter details on the transfer. Because these were pretty small pieces, they only took me about 10 minutes each.
One futher comment - my daughter's name is "Katherine Faith". She goes by "Faith" at home and by "Katherine" with her friends. That's why there is a different name on last year's cake :D
