Mini Birthday Cake
This is a mini birthday cake for a co-worker, my first attempt at Corelli icing. It's probably more of a combination of Corelli and Sotas as the icing overlaps. I'm getting better at the fondant and can see improvement from my first attempt. Thanks for looking!
Funny but doing the cornelli lace on the bottom cake was pretty easy as I could hold the whole cake in my hand. The top one was more of a challenge and I think I will have an easier time next time if my icing is a little thicker, just too drippy. Believe it or not, the fondant is Wilton's right out of the package - the pastel colors package, I added almond extract. Not great but not too bad.
is this one of those teeny tiny cakes/???? It must have been difficult enough getting the fondant so smooth let alone even attempting the cornelli lace, great job!!!!!

I love the color, I like the effect you got from your corneilli lace...it gives a lot of visual interest by leaving it off the center tier! Nice cake!
Having just done a very similar size/design cake myself I know that trying to get cornelli looking good on this size of cake is really hard - you did well!
