Shark Cake

Shark Cake on Cake Central

Birthday cake for a 7 yr old fascinated with sharks. shark is RKT covered with fondant, shells are fondant made with molds I made from actual shells. Cake is WASC, covered with white chocolate ganache and fondant is white chocolate cheesecake MFF. The first thing the birthday boy did was stick his finger in the mouth, of course.

I'm sorry. I forgot that not everyone knows the abbreviations. RKT stands for Rice Krispie Treats, (Rice Krispies being a puffed rice breakfast cereal).

WASC  is the abbreviation for White Almond Sour Cream cake. It is basically a box cake mix which has been altered with the addition of sour cream, flour, sugar and various flavorings. There are many variations and it is the foundation for many cakes.

MFF stands for Michele Foster's Fondant. This is my all time favorite fondant. It is a homemade recipe made with cream, sugar, gelatin, glycerine and flavorings of your choice. It has made many a fondant hater into one who loves fondant.

All these recipes can be found in the recipe section here on CC.

I hope this helps you. (In fact, before the big format change here on CC, there used to be a page that gave the frequent acronyms and abbreviations used. I'm not comfortable with the new layout so don't know if it still exists.)
