I made this for a wedding - but it could be a birthday cake also. Everything is edible. The barrel cake is a pound cake with cream filling - it is iced with buttercream and covered with fondant. The fondant is carved and painted to look like a barrel. The mug was made the same way. The groom's hobby is making beer. The hops and leaves are made out of gum paste. The base cake is 16 x 16 triple layer chocolate with raspberry filling and covered in chocolate whipped buttercream. I am a hobby baker and make a few cakes for friends and family.
