A cake made to match the birthday invitation. I hand-molded the bees and decorated the cake with fondant. The cake itseld is made from crusting BC. I got the recipe here and this is the first time I used it. Didn't have Viva towels so I used a large silk scarf...worked great!
this is so so beautiful - I love every part of it..are the bees fondant? I've gotta learn to make fondant - I've tried Wilton's but don't like the taste.
It must be something about goldens! They must all have a sweet tooth. My golden once ate 50 buckeyes and then a few months later, ate a 9"x13" Dora cake!
I made the bees, decorations and number 1 from modelling paste (fondant +gumtex). I made the little antennas from thin gauged floral wire and made the loops using long nose pliers. I make my fondant from scratch, i can send you the recipe if you'd like to try it. It's good for figures, i just keep them under a heat lamp to keep them soft or I zap them in the microwave for 10 seconds to restore malleability.
