Seashell/mermaid Castle Cake on Cake Central

totally edible cake..with everything handmade and handpainted with lustre colours..all made with varios fondant sugars...the towers and green seaweed bein pastillage the seahells, mermaids, starfish and seahourses being modelling paste and the the pink seaweed runout royal icing..The pink coral was again handmade rock sugar..The tropical fish again where all handpainted with lustre colours..there is loads more detail around the sides and the back..got abit carried away

yes it for my daughters friend...so I will be part paind and part as a present....with the lustre dusts I used rejuvenator spirit which is like a clear alcohol..I am soo glad you like the photo...taking to the party later..was panicing abit....but thats just me....

That is fantastic. It is on my daughters "list" of cakes that she wants. Beautiful. How did you do your turrets. I want to do a castle at some point...

the turrets are made from pastalliage paste wrapped round kitchen roll holders and left to dry..but you could easily use gumpaste..then I used the FMM impression mats in old stone to get the stone effect on the walls
