Brown Scroll W/ Pink Flowers - Finished Cake
Ok- here is the finished cake- why is it that I can write with icing great when I'm practicing on a board but the minute I write on the cake it's a mess? I have a very hard time centering everything - not to mention keeping it all straight - Oh - well, practice practice practice.
I love everything about this cake! I know what you mean about not wanting to cover up that beautiful smooth surface you acheived, but this looks wonderful. :)

Oh- and this is also while the brown icing was still wet - I smushed all my dots down when the icing crusted some- looked much better then all those points standing up! :lol:

I too tap my points down! Great minds....and artists! I love the look of this cake and I like the writing off center better than if it were centered. Makes it more interesting and artsy. Centered is too "typical". Your scroll work is great and the color combo is so nice! Good work!

WOW guys- thanks. Yea- I always seem to write on it first and then do the top around the writing - b/c I've tried doing it with the top first and then the writing but it's still off - so I figure if I do the writing first then I can work the rest of the detail around that!! -
